Education and Professional Background

From legal education
to professional practice.

Av. Merve Kartal'ın imzası

I graduated from the Faculty of Law at Cyprus International University in 2019. After completing my one-year legal traineeship, I obtained my licence to practise law in 2020.

I provide legal advice and conduct litigation and enforcement proceedings in and around Alanya, where I am registered with the Antalya Bar Association under registration number 7112.

I work in various areas, primarily family, criminal, enforcement and employment law. My professional practice includes divorce and matrimonial property disputes, criminal proceedings, tenancy matters and inheritance matters.

My work is not limited to the litigation stage. Evaluating documents before a legal transaction, identifying options in an existing dispute and monitoring an ongoing process are also part of my legal advice and representation services. In every case, I assess the factual background, the parties’ circumstances and the relevant documents together.

My Approach

Careful attention to your case.
Clarity throughout your process.

I assess each legal matter in light of its own documents,
dates and circumstances.

01

Listening First

Understanding your matter and expectations is the starting point for my legal assessment. At our initial meeting, we consider the details of the matter and the available documents together.

02

Explaining Your Options

I explain the legal remedies available, the relevant time limits and the uncertainties of the process in clear language. I believe it is important that you make your decisions in light of this information.

03

Keeping You Informed Throughout the Process

I will keep you updated on developments in your case and let you know what information or documents I need from you. I prioritise open communication so that you can ask me any questions.

04

Defining the Scope from the Outset

Before starting work, I discuss the scope of the work, legal fees and any potential litigation costs.

Professional Practice

Review
information relating to your matter.

The scope of my work is shaped by the subject matter of the application and the legal support required. Within the scope of Family Law, I handle divorce, child custody, maintenance and matrimonial property disputes; within the scope of Criminal Law, I deal with investigation and trial proceedings.

In the field of Employment Law, disputes arising from employment relationships; in the field of Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, the enforcement of claims; and in the field of Tenancy and Real Estate Law, tenancy and real estate matters are among my practice areas. I also deal with transactions and disputes within the scope of Inheritance Law.

Within the scope of Commercial Law, disputes involving companies and arising from commercial contracts; within the scope of Compensation Law, claims for pecuniary and non-pecuniary compensation arising from traffic accidents and torts; and within the scope of Contract Law, the drafting and review of contracts and disputes arising from them are also among my areas of work.

For each area, you can find general information on the processes, key topics and frequently asked questions on a separate page. These pages summarise the procedures followed in the relevant area, the types of disputes commonly encountered and the time limits to be observed; the legal articles section provides explanations on current issues. Assessing your own situation requires a separate examination of the circumstances and your documents.

Preparing for the Initial Consultation

Where
can we begin?

Sharing a brief summary of your matter will help us
plan an initial assessment together.

01

Record the Facts and Dates

You may briefly prepare an outline of what happened, the current stage of your matter, and the questions you would like answered during the meeting. If you have an ongoing lawsuit or enforcement file, it would be helpful to provide the relevant details, the hearing date, and any notices you have received.

02

Prepare the Relevant Documents

You may gather the contracts, correspondence, payment documents, or decisions relevant to your matter for the meeting. The documents required will depend on your application; we can clarify this during the initial contact.

03

Let's Discuss the Scope of the Consultation

We will discuss your need for legal advice, the review of your file, or your request for representation in legal proceedings. The scope of the work, fees, and potential expenses will be discussed. The next steps will be determined after assessing the documents and your legal position.

The purpose of the initial meeting is to understand your matter and clarify the legal avenues available for consideration. The outcome of legal proceedings depends on the specific circumstances of the case, the evidence, and the assessment of the competent authorities.
